Faith Promise is our means of supporting the work of God all around the world; we call that missions. The words Faith Promise define the action involved in our support of missions.
Faith means that an individual is trusting, or, having faith, in God to help them fulfill their commitment to missions every month.
The Promise part of the phrase is a promise to God and not to our church. Yes your giving makes it possible for our church to support God’s work around the world through our missionary team, but, your promise is between you and the Lord. Because this work is His and is so important we will make an effort to encourage you to be faithful giving.
Something to consider:
God gave (John 3:16; Phil. 2:6, 7) so to be like him we need to give too.
Remember that investing in Faith Promise is not redirecting part of your tithe to missions. Faith Promise giving is above and beyond God’s tithe. Giving is always a step of faith. I am saying that I believe that God will ‘supply all of my needs’ as I invest in the work of His kingdom through tithes and offerings.
Philippians 4:19 ‘And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.’ It is clearly attached to the fact that these Christians gave sacrificially to the work of the Lord. (v. 10-18)
