COVID-19 Update

First Family,

I want you to know that your staff is praying for you as we work to move the mission of the church forward. While we can’t be together physically, we feel God’s uniting presence. Since we won’t be gathering corporately while the restrictions remain in place, I want to communicate some details in regards to several important areas; April’s weekly online schedule, how we will celebrate and serve Easter weekend, and two ways we can be of service to our city this month.

10:00AM – Weekend Celebration Service

Easter @ Spokane First

We may not be able to gather like we normally do, but that won’t stop us from celebrating. I challenge you to imagine the atmosphere of the very first Easter morning. The disciples were huddled in a home, full of fear, completely confused, and utterly hopeless…suddenly in the midst of all of the discouragement and fear a risen Jesus enters the scene and changes everything. Could there be any truer Easter expression than gathering with your loved ones, breaking bread, and inviting Jesus into your home? The following are several online Easter weekend opportunities you and your entire family can take advantage of:

Good Friday Service at 6PM Online

We will provide an interactive online service for you and your entire family on Good Friday. Together, we will journey through the stages of the cross taking time at each stage to read, reflect, and respond. There will be a digital guide available in our app that will tell you everything you need to prepare beforehand and to follow along with during the service.

Easter Meal Kits

Every year we get to live out our core value of compassion—we give back because Jesus gave everything– and this year is no exception. Even though we are unable to put on our annual Ultimate Egg Hunt, we still want to give back. On Saturday April 11th we will provide “Easter Meal Kits” to families in need. Our hope is to enable the less fortunate to share a great meal together in celebration of our risen Savior.

Easter Sunrise

On this special day, we want to offer multiple options for you and your family to celebrate together. Our first option will be a traditional sunrise

Easter service available online. Tune in with your family right at sunrise, 6:05AM, Easter Sunday morning to celebrate the resurrection.

Easter Celebration

The second option will be our normal 10AM online service. This will be our normal Sunday live experience.

Two Ways to Serve

Our team has been reaching out to local and state leadership as well as numerous community and non-profit organizations in hopes to create opportunities for our church body to serve. We have identified to community organizations that are in need of our help:

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army has seen an increase of 30% in those seeking their services. Spokane First is scheduled to volunteer Fridays in April from 12- 4 pm. We will sort food, stock shelves, and prep food boxes. Only ages 15-65 can volunteer, those whose immune systems have been compromised are asked to stay home. If you are able to serve in this area please email the office or sign-up on the app.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels has seen an increase not only in needed meals but also volunteers. Each meal costs $4.50, please consider either donating or volunteering your time to serve this organization. Click here to volunteer or donate:
